Wednesday, May 20, 1-2:30 pm – Understanding Dementia-Related Behavior
- Alzheimer’s Association Staff or Volunteer, Presenter
Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of dementia.
- Registration deadline is 5/18.
- Thanks to federal funding from the MN River Area Agency on Aging, VINE can expand our caregiver support services. Cost-sharing is required by the federal Older Americans Act and you’ll notice that a $5 fee is suggested for participation in support groups and educational programs. A sliding fee scale is available to help you determine what you can afford. No one will be denied service based on inability or unwillingness to pay.
