MEISA = MOVEMENT-EXPLORATION-IMAGINATION-SENSATION-AWARENESS
- Mondays, Wednesdays
- April 9 – June 27
- 3:30 – 4:30 pm
MEISA is a physical practice that integrates mindful movement incorporating breathing, stretching, balancing, and playful exploration. It provides an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in moving with less tension, increased mobility, and enhanced physical expression. All activities can be adapted and performed sitting or standing. Instructor, Melissa Rollnick, is a professor of dance at Gustavus Adolphus College. As Melissa experiences her own aging process, she has adapted the form for older adults. In response to participant feedback from Melissa’s fall pilot class at the VACC, the spring class will incorporate more time for structured movement exploration.
This activity is made possible by an Artist Grant provided by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council from funds provided by the McKnight Foundation.
- VACC membership is not required to participate. Call the VACC at (507) 386-5586 by 4/6 to sign up.
