Spring Clean Up

We understand that spring cleaning is important to a lot of people; and vital to helping older homeowners maintain independence so you can stay living in your own home as long as possible. VINE has provided Spring Cleanup,  one of our annual service projects, for older homeowners since our inception. Don't hesitate contacting us to help with your spring cleaning. VINE spring cleanup services are available in Blue Earth and Nicollet counties for older adults and people with physical disabilities. Call VINE at 507-387-1666 to sign up.

Spring Cleanup Services

We'll get started in mid-April and continue until the work is done. Convenient times will be arranged for both homeowners and volunteers. We can help with:

  • Raking
  • Filling bird baths
  • Preparing gardens
  • Moving lawn furniture
  • Sweeping porches and garages

We'll coordinate groups of adult volunteers, who will come to your home during the summer months, and get your windows sparkling and gutters cleaned! Call VINE to add your name to the list.

If you'll be needing VINE's assistance with mowing this summer, please call and request an application. VINE staff will then review it and contact you about adding your name to the list.

Grab a pair of gloves and a rake and join us for Spring Cleanup! During this annual service event, you will help older homeowners with spring cleaning chores around their yard. Volunteers will rake leaves, trim bushes, prepare flower beds and garden soil for planting, and other minor outdoor spring cleaning chores that older homeowners may not be able to complete on their own. Participate in this wonderful event and experience the satisfaction of helping others. We'll provide the rakes and supplies and can haul away yard waste.

Here is what you do:

  • Organize a group from your church, school, family, or civic organization to help.
  • Call about flexible scheduling of projects.
  • Complete the Spring Clean-Up Volunteer Application.
  • Help older homeowners get their house and yard ready for spring!
